This was Melanie's first, and, to-date, only movie project that

was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Although she was not

the star according to the publicity surrounding the movie, this

was the first time since 'Heavenly Creatures' that her name

graced the film's poster.

'Coyote Ugly' was also the first time that Lynskey was given a

mature, sexy look. Her character, Gloria, the best friend of the

main character, Violet, (Piper Perabo) was every bit as

voluptuous as the girls in the bar from which the film took its

title from.  Filmed in the actual CU bar in New York, the story

allowed Melanie to show more attitude and be a little more

sexually coarse.

In spite of not having that much screen time, Lynskey made

the most of the scenes she did appear in and was memorable

in every one.
